Welcome to
Muddy Boots Horse Farm & Rescue,
where every hoofbeat tells a story of hope and healing.
Restoring the spirits of broken horses so they can, in turn, touch the hearts of humans who feel lost in their journey.
Calliope is our most recent rescue. Watch her story here!
About Muddy Boots Rescue
Our daughters rode horses on and off most of their lives. We would pay for lessons and then not have enough money and have to stop for a while. Then we would start again. Horses were a huge part of our youngest daughter's life, as well as a major comfort for her during anxious times. She would say when she was around the horses, she just felt like nothing else mattered and all was right in her world.
Fast forward to 2021, our daughter put me on her horse for the first time and I was HOOKED! Within a few months, I was deep into the horse world. We decided to casually start looking at horse farms...." just to see what was out there". Within a few months, we stumbled onto our, now, beautiful horse farm with a large barn and everything we could ask for in a home. God worked out every detail and within 60 days, we had moved in! That was December of 2023.
On January 1, 2024, I went to a horse auction, "just to see what was out there". And our rescue was born that day. We rescued a very sick Appaloosa who would've ended up in the kill pen for sure.
In our first year, we rescued Apollo, Kratos, Raven, Ellie, and Bubbles! Read all their stories and see their transformation photos in the About the Horses section.
We exist so that children and adults who need the comfort and peace that horses offer can experience that on our beautiful, God-given, farm. Our non-profit exists so that we can rescue broken and abused and sick horses so that they can either find their new adoptive home and their forever person or live here on Muddy Boots to touch the lives of those who need that love.
