We are a 501c3 charity, and all donations, either financial or "in-kind" are tax deductible. A receipt will be provided when requested. Every dollar helps us in ways you cannot imagine. A typical rescue costs around $2000 in the first three months, and that is if we get it for free. No amount is too small.

The snow was beautiful when it lasted! This is a mess!!!

I will sit and listen to horses eat and feel a sense of peace and calm…..but I do not want to hear a person chewing. Ever. 🤪

Good morning from Groot and Bullet! They weren’t brothers before they came here, but they sure seem to be now!

The boys seem to be settling in. They like our trails and do anything we ask! Love that they are here with us, safe, and happy!

Good morning from Groot and Bullet! They are settling in nicely! Amazing trail horses! We are excited to have horses that literally anyone can ride!

We were long overdue to bring home a horse that needed us……so we went, we found, we brought home…..two! Both summer camp horses no longer needed for camp, so dumped at auction. Chloe, Amelia, and I brought them home. They are safe now! Looking forward to offering trail rides with them! Meet Hermie and Groot!

She’s back! 6 weeks in the animal hospital getting 7 different medications in a catheter in her eye every 4 hours around the clock. They said she was “the very best baby they have ever had”!! We are so happy she’s back and healthy!

Our sweet baby, Delilah, who is just 16 months old, is suffering from a severe “melting ulcer”. Basically, her cornea is melting away. She has been at New Bolton Hospital since Friday, and we were treating her, under vet care, for the week before that, with no improvement. She is responding to treatment at New Bolton, where they put a catheter in her eye, and she is getting 7 medications put in her eye through the catheter every four hours, around the clock. This treatment needs to continue for six weeks, with no wiggle room on the timing of the medications in order to save her eye. It has been a while since we have done a fundraiser for any of our expenses, but they have been significant, and this will be the most expensive yet. Her stay at New Bolton is $2500, and for the next two weeks, she will be at a care facility, which will cost another $2000. At first, I thought I could bring her home and care for her myself, but I am a full-time caregiver for the next six weeks for my mother, who broke both her legs and is staying with us. So taking care of Delilah full-time, as well, is not an option. SO, I come to our followers asking for help for Delilah’s medical expenses.

Thankful for people who just want to be around animals and come alongside me. Delilah is our newest addition to the barn, and while she’s not a rescue, she is a 14 month old Gypsy Vanner who requires a lot of maintenance and schooling. Today 2 volunteers helped me bathe her and braid her main and work on her manners. She already has a fan club and is as sweet as can be!

Up at 5am to meet the vet before the heat hit! Tater and Tot had a little snip-snip, Pooh Bear, the lamb, got her vaccines, and Lolly had an ultrasound cause we suspected babies and it turns out there are at least TWO!! Stay tuned…..we are on Baby Watch for the next 2-4 weeks!!

It’s HOT already! The chickens are already panting!! Everyone is sprayed for flies, has triple water sources, hay in the stalls with full fans going so the horses can come and go, sunscreen on the horses noses (yes, that’s a thing), and fly masks! Going to need to hose everyone off multiple times a day! Going to be a long week. Say a prayer that the animals don’t get sick or colic and stay hydrated! This heat can be scary for all my heartbeats at the farm!

We are looking for people to “Sponsor a Child” at Muddy Boots. We have had requests from parents of children with autism, as well as children in chemotherapy, who cannot afford the lessons. We need sponsors for these children to be able to do equine-assisted learning at our rescue. To the ladies in their 40’s, 50’s, and 60’s.....have you always wanted to ride a horse but thought you missed your chance.......I can help with that!
When I turned 50, I asked my daughter to teach me how to ride her horse. This first picture is the first time I got on a horse. I was HOOKED! Over the last 5 years, I have, for the most part, taught myself how to ride by reading, watching videos, talking to experts in the field, and taking a few lessons. I have developed my own methods for picking which horses I can rescue, caring for my rescued horses, rehabilitating them, schooling them, and riding them. At the age of 50, this all began for me. It’s NEVER too late!!
Would you like to learn the very basics about riding? I am offering lessons to women who want to get on a horse but never thought they could. I will teach grooming, tacking up, ground work, and then learning to walk on a horse. The end goal would be to take each participant on a trail ride in the future.
Not only will you learn to walk on a horse, you will experience the amazing therapeutic benefits of being around a horse, as I have just completed my Equine-Assisted Therapy Specialist classes and exams.
I am offering packages that include 6 one-hour lessons leading up to a trail ride. Message me for pricing.
