About Muddy Boots Rescue

The how and why of our Non-Profit Organization

Our daughters rode horses on and off most of their lives. We would pay for lessons and then not have enough money and have to stop for a while. Then we would start again. Horses were a huge part of our youngest daughter's life, as well as a major comfort for her during anxious times. She would say when she was around the horses, she just felt like nothing else mattered and all was right in her world.

Fast forward to 2021, our daughter put me on her horse for the first time and I was HOOKED! Within a few months, I was deep into the horse world. We decided to casually start looking at horse farms...." just to see what was out there".  Within a few months, we stumbled onto our, now, beautiful horse farm with a large barn and everything we could ask for in a home. God worked out every detail and within 60 days, we had moved in! That was December of 2023.

On January 1, 2024, I went to a horse auction, "just to see what was out there".  And our rescue was born that day. We rescued a very sick Appaloosa who would've ended up in the kill pen for sure.

In our first year, we rescued Apollo, Kratos, Raven, Ellie, and Bubbles! Read all their stories and see their transformation photos in the Rescued Horses section.

We exist so that children and adults who need the comfort and peace that horses offer can experience that on our beautiful, God-given, farm. Our non-profit exists so that we can rescue broken and abused and sick horses so that they can either find their new adoptive home and their forever person or live here on Muddy Boots to touch the lives of those who need that love.

Ways to help

Our charity needs your help in many ways!

Most importantly, please pray for us anytime we come to mind! We are always working hard to keep our horses safe, and healthy, and working towards the ability to interact with humans.

We offer many opportunities to volunteer and help us with projects around the farm, in the barn, and getting to know the horses. Check the Services section for scheduling and more information

We also offer opportunities for

group or one-on-one instruction

on basic horse care and groundwork. All of our rescues need to be exposed to all different people, learn to have manners and become desensitized to various obstacles. During that session, we teach you how to earn a horse's respect, walk them through obstacles, and eventually ride! Check our Services section for more information on scheduling and payment.

Finally, how about a PONY PARTY?  Check out our Services section for more information and to schedule!
